Klay Thompson Explains Why Clubbing Isn’t Fun For NBA Players

Klay Thompson

Although turning up in the club is fun for most of us, if you're a rich and famous NBA players, it isn't all it's cracked up to be. Just ask Golden State Warriors guard, Klay Thompson.

He's just 26, but for the two-time NBA All-Star, clubbing just isn't as fun anymore.

During an appearance on the Warriors Plus/Minus podcast over the weekend, Thompson explains that since his team won the NBA title last season... it's been harder and harder to enjoy a night out.

"Club life is alright," he said. "Being kind of famous is like being an attractive female. Every time you go out to dinner or to a nightlife function, every guy kind of wants to talk to you about hoops and, like, they want to buy you a drink and chop it up about, 'Oh, who you playing next?' You know, 'You should pump fake on this shot. You should do a step back.' I'm like, 'Man, I appreciate that, but I just want to listen to some good music.' You get a lot of male love being in this position."

"It was better when I was a rookie," Klay added. "People were like, 'Oh, you're tall. What do you do?' Now it's like, 'Oh, I know what you do. What are you doing out? You play the Blazers in two days!' "

You can listen his entire interview below, during which he talks about his social life, as well as some funny stories about teammate Stephen Curry.
