Caught Streaming: March Madness With Samsung’s Galaxy S7

Samsung Galaxy S7 x March Madness

For sports fans, March Madness comes around once a year, and while it brings us much joy, trying to keep up with all the games during the month-long stretch can be a chore to fit into our everyday lives.

That is, unless, you can take it on the go and watch it anywhere... which we were able to do for March Madness 2016, thanks to our friends at AT&T, DirecTV and Samsung.

For this year's collegiate basketball tournament, AT&T hooked us up with Samsung's brand new Galaxy S7, equipped with a DirecTV subscription, allowing us to watch every single game with ease.

Watching the NCAA Tourney during lunch, check; sneaking into the bathroom during your break, check; and loading it up under the table during a boring meeting, check. There's no place that we didn't have immediate access ... never missing a moment of the action.

The DirecTV app was essential in making our March Madness experience so easy. It offers instant access to live TV, while allowing you to control  your DVR to record any games you couldn't catch. It can even act as your remote, so when you are watching from the living room, you don't have to get off the couch to change the channel. And, did we mention voice command ability? Yes, just speak to the S7 to bring up DirecTV: "Hello Galaxy, open DIRECTV." SWISH!

As for the phone itself, the Galaxy S7's 5.1-inch, Quad HD super AMOLED display is bright and crisp, so it's not much of a step down from watching on your television... and is perfect for passing your time with mobile games.

It also features the brand's biggest battery yet, a 3000mAh battery that allows for around 12 hours of battery life, so you never run outta juice on the move; it's water resistant, so you don't have to worry if you drop it in the toilet (it happens); has tons of storage, thanks to 32GB of space, and the option for an additional 200GB using a microSD card; and finally, a 12 MP dual-pixel camera, allowing for faster auto focus and a new low-light sensor, so snapping those photos for the 'Gram are as sharp as ever.

With that said, March Madness has concluded with Villanova defeating the Tarheels in the Championship Game. But, beyond the basketball tourney, AT&T, the Samsung S7 and DirecTV is a deadly combo that you can stuff into your pocket. If you're constantly on the go and don't wanna miss your favorite TV programming, it's definitely an option to think about. And now's the best time to get one, because AT&T is offering a buy one, get one free promotion -- with the purchase of a new Samsung Galaxy S7, customers can get one free AND up to $650 in credits. Check out the details here.

Lastly, if you'd like to try your luck at winning one, from now until April 6, AT&T is running a contest allowing customers a chance to win an S7 (Void in NY/FL). You can enter here.
