Jon Jones to Fight Ovince Saint Preux at UFC 197

Despite a probation violation arrest last month, Jon Jones is still slated to compete at UFC 197 later this month... except against a different opponent.

Jones was slated to fight defending champion Daniel Cormier on April 23, but Cormier has been forced to withdraw, due to a lower leg injury. So instead, Jones will take on Ovince Saint Preux for the UFC's interim title.

The 28-year-old hasn't fought in the Octagon since January 2015, when he defeated Cormier via unanimous decision -- his eighth consecutive title defense, a record for the 205-pound division.

However, Jones was arrested a few months later in May, before his next fight against Anthony Johnson on a felony hit-and-run charge in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The UFC then stripped Jones of the title.

Cormier and Johnson faced off at UFC 187 and won the official title, and has since recorded one successful defense, a split decision against Alexander Gustafsson in October.
