Patriots, Tom Brady Agree on Deal to Keep Him Through 2019

Although the Patriots lost in the AFC Championship Game, they have not lost confidence in quarterback Tom Brady.

New England and Brady have agreed to a two-year contract extension that will keep the NFL star locked up through the 2019 season, reports ESPN.

Brady had two years left on his contract, paying him $9 million in 2016 and $10 million in 2017. His salary-cap charge for 2016 would've been a team-high $15 million, but the extension likely will lower that number.

If the deal plays out, the 39-year-old could very well play into his 40s. Last fall, he said he wants to play for another 10 years.
