Samsung in Talks to Acquire TIDAL: Report

Nearly a year after its launch, Samsung is in talks for an acquisition of Jay Z's streaming service TIDAL, reports the New York Post.

"Samsung is re-engaging; they are working on something really big, and they're keeping it very quiet in case it leaks," a source told the paper. However, officially, Samsung remains tight-lipped about the situation. "It is our policy to not comment on rumors or speculation," a Samsung spokesperson said.

There's also rumors that both Google and Spotify are interested in acquiring or partnering with TIDAL, but Samsung's longstanding relationship with Jay Z puts them as the front-runner.

Samsung partnered with Jay on the release of his Magna Carta... Holy Grail in 2013.

TIDAL is currently valued at $100 million, according to the Post.
