Heavyweight Alistair Overeem Re-Signs With UFC
UFC heavyweight Alistair Overeem has re-signed with the UFC, after being a free agent since mid-December.
The 35-year-old made the announcement via social media last week, posting a photo of himself signing his new contract, which expired last year.
The first fight under Overeem's new contract will be on May 8 in the main event of UFC: Rotterdam, otherwise known as UFC Fight Night 87, the promotion's debut event in the Netherlands. He will take on veteran Andrei Arlovski.

Overeem (40-14) is a former Strikeforce champion, who made his UFC debut in 2011, when he knocked out Brock Lesnar in the first round at UFC 141.
He's currently on a three-fight winning streak, following wins over Stegan Struve, Roy Nelson, and most recently, a second-round knockout over Junior dos Santos on Dec. 19.
Terms of Overeem's new contract with the UFC were not disclosed.
