Bellator 149: Ken Shamrock Takes on Royce Gracie for Third Time
Bellator 149 has a hyped card that has made headlines for the past several weeks. If you haven't heard, here's a breakdown of the headliners for the event, which takes place on tonight (Feb. 19) at 9 pm ET on SPIKE TV.
In the main event, MMA legends Ken Shamrock and Royce Gracie will face off for the third time in their careers. They first fought at UFC 1 in 1993, with Gracie taking the victory via submission, before facing off three years later at UFC 5 in 1995... ending in a draw.
Today, 20 years later, Shamrock and Gracie will complete the trilogy, but as shells of their former selves. Ken is now 52, and Gracie is 49... and both wearing their age. Analysts expect Shamrock to win.
In the co-headlining event, Kimbo Slice -- who is off a knockout victory over Shamrock last summer -- will take on his Miami-bred rival and fellow backyard fight star Dada 5000, who has just two professional MMA fights under his belt. Most are expecting Slice to win, being that his has more experience as an MMA fighter, but both have the power to turn out the other's lights.
Bellator 149 takes place tonight from the Toyota Center in Houston, TX.
