Browns’ Josh Gordon Asks NFL To Lift Suspension
A year after being suspended indefinitely for multiple violations of the NFL's substance abuse policy, Josh Gordon is asking for second chance.
According to ESPN, the Cleveland Browns wide receiver has applied for reinstatement, formally asking commissioner Roger Goodell to allow him back.
Gordon failed an alcohol test last year, forcing him to miss the entire 2015 season.
The NFL's policy allows Gordon to apply in writing for reinstatement within 60 days of his suspension ending. But, for him to be reinstated, he will have to demonstrate sustained abstinence during his suspension.
Goodell will make a decision within 60 days of Gordon's application.
If allowed to return to the Browns, Gordon he will be under contract for 2016 for nearly $1.1 million and can become a restricted free agent following the season
