Chefs Roy Choi, Daniel Patterson Open LocoL In Watts
Chefs Roy Choi and Daniel Patterson have teamed up for the launch of a new restaurant in the notorious Los Angeles neighborhood of Watts.
The new eatery, dubbed LocoL, is billed as a place for inexpensive, quality food ... notable, due to the area often being known as "fast-food central."
According to the L.A. Times, residents have called for more healthy optios for years.
"We fundamentally believe that wholesomeness, deliciousness and affordability don't have to be mutually exclusive concepts in fast food," LocoL says on its website. "We believe that fast food restaurants can truly empower the communities they currently underserve. We believe that the giant corporations that feed most of America have degraded our communities by maximizing profits over decades. We believe that chefs should feed America, and not suits."
While we've yet to pay a visit, the menu rages from $1 to $6 USD, said reports, with items such as burgers, chicken sandwiches, noodle bowls, chili and even veggie dishes.
