Counterfeit goods is a big business, with nearly every major brand losing money from bootleggers.

Adidas is trying to combat this by filing a lawsuit, asking a federal judge to close nearly 300 websites selling counterfeit versions of their product, reports Biz Journals.

Websites such as YeezyBoost350.net and AdidasFactoryStore.com are among those listed in the suit.

"Defendants are part of an ongoing scheme to create and maintain an illegal marketplace enterprise on the World Wide Web, which confuses consumers regarding the source of defendants' goods ... and expands the marketplace for illegal, counterfeit versions of plaintiffs' branded goods while shrinking the legitimate marketplace for plaintiffs' genuine branded goods," Adidas said in the lawsuit.

Adidas and its co-plaintiffs have been unable to determine who operates the sites.
