Meek Mill Found Guilty Of Probation Violation, Faces Jail Time
Meek Mill took an "L" in court on Thursday (Dec. 17), when he was found guilty of probation violations, and is now facing jail time.
During his probation hearing, the rapper took the stand and pleaded to the judge about his changed ways.
Meek was reportedly on the stand for an hour, during which he got emotional as he referenced his girlfriend Nicki Minaj, who had previously taken the stand in his defense. "I'm not a gangsta. I'm not a criminal," he said. "I have my queen, Nicki now. I'm trying to do better and feel like I can be the best rapper alive."
Elsewhere in his testimony, Meek talked about not being able to visit his mother in New Jersey after a surgery, due to travel restrictions in his probation.
Despite his pleas, the judge found him in "technical violation" of his probation, and set a Feb. 5 date for his sentencing. He's also restricted from leaving a five-county area around Philadelphia or performing at any event in or outside Philly.
Meek's probation stems from gun possession and drug charges, dating back to 2008, during which he was sentenced to 11 to 23 months in prison.
He could face more time behind bars, come February.
