Ronda Rousey Taken To Hospital After Being Knocked Out
After being stunned at UFC 193, via knockout at the hands of Holly Holm, Ronda Rousey was taken to local hospital in Australia.
Now, there's an update. Shortly after the upset, UFC president Dana White told FOX Sports that Rousey had to be stitched up... and is okay. "Yeah, she went to the hospital. Her lip is split, and they're going to have to sew her lip and put some stitches in it," he said.
It was as though Rousey met a superior fighter on Saturday night (Nov. 14), despite being the favorite in Las Vegas. She was outworked and kept at bay by the former boxing champ's stiff jabs, before being knocked out cold by a left kick to the head.
When Rousey came to, Holm was holding her belt and she sat on the mat in a daze. Medical staff looked at her... as White looked on in disbelief.
After reports that the UFC star was transported to the hospital, there were concerns by fans that she may have suffered a more severe injury... but White says she's okay.
"As far as I know, she's good," he said.
