Colts QB Andrew Luck Out With Lacerated Kidney
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck will miss two to six weeks, after suffering a laceration in one of his kidneys and a partial tear of an abdominal muscle, reports ESPN.
Coach Chuck Pagano said the injuries should not require surgery.
Luck was injured when he took a hit from Denver linebacker Danny Trevathan, as he scrambled in the fourth quarter of the Colts' victory over the Broncos on Sunday.
Despite the injury, Luck remained in the game and threw a touchdown pass to running back Ahmad Bradshaw on the next play. He finished 21-of-36 for 252 yards, with two touchdowns and no interceptions.
Veteran Matt Hasselbeck will start at quarterback during Luck's absence.
