West Coast Residents Light Up Social Media With UFO Sighting

A weird occurrence took place on the West Coast Saturday night (Nov. 7), when residents from Los Angeles to San Francisco spotted a mysterious light in the night sky... that no one really could explain, prompting UFO talk.

The blue light was even saw by people in Nevada and Arizona.

There are several Youtube videos about the sighting, including a clip from famous Youtubers like Jenna Marbles and her boyfriend Julien Solomita. And, Twitter went crazy about talk of an alien invasion.

Despite all the speculation, authorities had an explanation.

The Orange County Sheriff's office said it was some Naval test fire. "Light seen in OC sky was confirmed through JWA tower to be a Naval test fire off the coast. No further details," they tweeted.

Meanwhile, Malibu-Lost Hills sheriffs said "military exercises" were going down off the coast. "Military exercises off of Catalina Island. Lights and lasers can be seen from beach and coastline. No need to call 911," a tweet read.
