Jerry Heller Sues Over “Straight Outta Compton” Movie
Jerry Heller is suing anyone and everyone connected with the N.W.A. biopic, Straight Outta Compton, citing defamation. He wants $110 million, reports TMZ.
Heller previously said he'd be sitting front row at theaters, alongside his lawyer, and apparently, he wasn't kidding.
The report says Heller has filed suit against Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, the estate of Eazy-E, NBC Universal and several other companies, claiming the portrayal of him in the movie was false and damaging.
He says Straight Outta Compton portrayed him as "a sleazy manager who took advantage of Eazy-E, Dr. Dre and Ice Cube." Heller also denies other things in the movie, like withholding a $75,000 check from Ice Cube, and being fired by Eazy-E. And, says he never gave permission to use his likeness in the movie.
Jerry is suing for $35 million in compensatory damages and at least $75 mil in punitive damages, along with all profits from the movie.
