Kobe Bryant To Start In Lakers Opener, Will Set NBA Record

Kobe Bryant

After suffering a torn rotator cuff in January, Kobe Bryant has recovered and is expected to be in the starting lineup Wednesday (Oct. 28)... and also set an NBA record.

When Kobe steps on the court this week, he will be playing in his 20th season in a Los Angeles Lakers uniform, setting a league record for most seasons played with one franchise.

The Lakers will take on the Minnesota Timberwolves at Staples Center in its opening game.

Kobe has been recovering from a lower leg contusion that he suffered Oct. 13 in a preseason game in Las Vegas. The injury sidelined the NBA star for the Lakers' final three preseason games.

It's still unclear if this season will be Kobe's last before retirement. Stay tuned...
