Former Drug Kingpin Freeway Rick Ross Busted With $100K In Cash
Freeway Rick Ross was arrested last week for being in possession of over $100,000 in suspected drug proceeds.
According to the L.A. Times, Ross was picked up and arrested in Sonoma County, Calif. for carrying the suspected cash, as well as conspiring to commit a crime.
He is no longer in custody. Further details are currently unknown.
Ross was a crack cocaine kingpin in Los Angeles during the 1980s and 1990s. He was convicted in 1996 of conspiring to buy more than 100 kilos of cocaine from a police informant and eventually sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
However, his sentence was later reduced in 2005 from 20 to 16 1/2 years. Ross was released in 2009.
