“Godzilla vs. Kong” Movie Set For 2020
Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures announced this week a partnership for a monster team-up movie in 2020 called Godzilla vs. Kong.
In a joint announcement earlier this week, the companies said the film would be an "ecosystem" of giant super-species, as the Monarch organization that uncovered Godzilla in the 2014 film expands its mission in multiple releases, reports Variety.
First up in the partnership with be: Kong: Skull Island, set for March 10, 2017; and Godzilla 2, due out June 8, 2018.
"Audiences really responded to Godzilla," Legendary CEO Thomas Tull said. "Today, I'm excited to reveal that film was only the beginning of an epic new entertainment universe. As a lifelong fan of these characters, I've always wanted to see the ultimate showdown, and today we're pleased to be announcing that and more."
