Rihanna Unveils Title, Cover For New Album “Anti”
Rihanna finally unveils the title of her eighth album, which has long been referred to as #R8. During a private event in Los Angeles on Wednesday night (Oct. 7), she revealed both the title and art work.
Titled Anti, the cover features a childhood photo of Rihanna on her first day of daycare, created in collaboration with artist Roy Nachum. The image is distorted and painted over in red and white, while a gold crown was added atop her head and covering her eyes.
The back cover features the same photo shot from the back.
"I fell in love with it because I felt like there was another spirit, another layer to the art," Rihanna told the crowd. "This is my favorite album cover I've ever done."
The cover art also features a poem that was written by Chloe Mitchell in braille. "The whole idea behind the braille is people who have sight are sometimes the people who are blindest," said the singer.
Rihanna also told those in attendence that he album is done, but did not announce a release date.
So far, Anti has spawned the singles "FourFiveSeconds," "American Oxygen" and "Bitch Better Have My Money."
