Michael Kidd-Gilchrist Likely Out For Season, Due To Injury

Hornets forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist will likely miss the entire upcoming NBA season, due to a torn labrum in his right shoulder.

The team made the announcement Monday (Sept. 5), saying that the injury -- which was previously thought to be a separated shoulder -- was revealed in an MRI.

Kidd-Gilchrist suffered the injury in Saturday's (Sept. 3) preseason game at Orlando, when he landed on the floor in the second quarter.

The Hornets didn't reveal whether or not, the forward would need surgery or when he's expected to return, but Yahoo Sports reports that he will undergo shoulder surgery and likely miss the entire season.

Kidd-Gilchrist's absence will be a big blow to Charlotte, who went 27-28 last season when Kidd-Gilchrist played and 6-21 without him.
