Lil Wayne Lawsuit Says Drake, Nicki Minaj & Tyga Were Stiffed By Cash Money
The legal battle between Lil Wayne and Cash Money Records rages on.
In new court docs filed in Lil Wayne's lawsuit against the label and its founder Birdman, which were obtained by TMZ, the rapper claims Young Money artists Drake, Nicki Minaj and Tyga were not paid as promised.
Specifically, the documents say that Lil Wayne received letters from Drake and Tyga's respective camps that say they were not compensated properly. Furthermore, Nicki's camp says her producers were also not paid in full.
These claims are the responsibility of Cash Money Records, according to Lil Wayne.
That's not all either. The docs claim Young Money was supposed to receive a large portion of the $100 million advance Cash Money Records received from Universal Music Group years ago... but never received a dime.
Despite the claims, Cash Money reps say Lil Wayne received a $20 million advance for Young Money in 2012, another $12 million for a Lil Wayne solo album and another $70 million in advances, royalties, marketing and recording costs for various Young Money artists.
Cash Money claims Lil Wayne is contracted to deliver 21 albums over a 7-year span, but has only produced 13.
