Nicki Minaj To Star In, Produce ABC Comedy Sitcom
Nicki Minaj is coming to TV.
According to Deadline, the rapper has signed on to executive produce and appear in a new comedy series on ABC Family.
The untitled sitcom will be based on Nicki's childhood growing up in Queens, New York, where she was the child of an immigrant family from Trinidad who would go on to become a rap superstar.
"This is one of the more unique adventures I've ever embarked on," said Minaj in a statement. "I couldn't be more proud and excited to team up with an amazing group of people to give the world something really special."
Minaj serves as executive producer, alongside Aaron Kaplan and Kate Angelo, who will also pen the series.
The pilot for the show will be filmed this winter in Queens, and will screen sometime next year.
