Rihanna Offers Update On “R8” Album, Says It’s Not Done

Rihanna has released a pair of singles, "FourFiveSeconds" and "Bitch Better Have My Money," but there's still no release in sight for her R8 album.

So, what's the deal?

In an interview for NME, RiRi sheds some light on her delayed eighth album.

"To me it's never done until it's done. Until the final moment," she told the mag.

Despite the wait, Rihanna says her fans -- who are eagerly awaiting the project -- will be in for a treat when it finally hits retailers.

"No matter what I post online, within three comments there's somebody saying, 'Where is R8?. I could post anything. Nothing else matters. They don't care about anything but that," she said. "But it makes me excited, because I can't wait to give them something great."

When asked what's holding things up, she says to ask executive producer Kanye West. "We just have to wait to get back in the studio together. His schedule and mine are totally opposite right now, but I think this month we'll be back in the studio.

"I have so many songs I love -- and they're so different—that it's hard to actually put them all on the same album."
