Kendrick Lamar Pens Letter To Tupac

Kendrick Lamar

Tupac Shakur was killed in Las Vegas 19 years ago this weekend. On the anniversary of his death, Kendrick Lamar shared an open letter, with heartfelt words, for the legendary rapper.

In the letter, which was posted on 2Pac's official website, the Compton rapper reflects on the first time he saw his idol on set of the "California Love (Remix)" video, which was shot at the Compton Swap Meet near his home.

"I couldn't describe how I felt at that moment," Kendrick writes. "So many different emotions. Full of excitement. Full of joy and eagerness. 20 yrs later I understand exactly what that feeling was."

Elsewhere, he praises Pac for being an inspiration. "The people that you touched on that small intersection changed lives forever. I told myself I wanted to be a voice for man one day. Whoever knew I was speaking out loud for u to listen. Thank you."
