Toyota Unveils 2016 Prius In Las Vegas (Recap)
Toyota officially unveiled its all-new 2016 Prius to the world on Tuesday (September 8) in Las Vegas. With over 20 years of building alternative energy vehicles, and more than 3.5 million in global sales, the latest installment sets out to change the automotive-industry... again.
From the rooftop of The Linq Hotel, over 350 journalists and social influencers, got a first glance, with Australian band Atlas Genius opening the night with music that set the tone for the big moment, which was live streamed around the global for fans and car enthusiasts.
Engineered from the ground up, the new Toyota Prius is 2.4 inches longer, 0.6 inches wider and 0.8 inches lower than the model it replaces, providing a well planted on-road presence, while delivering more occupant and cargo room. It's the best of both worlds, as it combines the traditional benefits of a hybrid without compromising looks or performance. The emotional styling, smarter technology and impressive MPG proves you can look great while driving and be environmentally friendly at the same time.
Not to be overlooked, the Prius' exterior has been completely re-imagined. From the side, it is longer and sleeker with the overall outline evoking a sportier shape. Inspired by a runner in the starting blocks, the sporty design conveys a feeling of forward motion.
Special thanks to Toyota for letting us in on this experience.
