Hopsin Addresses Suicidal Comments & Trolling Fans
Hopsin has long struggled with the politics of the business, which at one point had overwhelmed him to the point of contemplating suicide.
In a recent interview with Vlad TV, the Los Angeles rapper explained how his comments have affected his career and those around him.
"I get emotional sometimes," Hopsin said. "That's just how I am. Human beings, we're all different. Some of us are extremely aggressive. Some people get emotional. Some people are super jolly. Some people are just numb and whatever. I just -- Certain things can really just make me get emotional. And, I just start hating life sometimes. But I'm learning. I'm growing. I'm learning and I don't do it often. It happened more in my early twenties. But every now and then, one of those times it just comes up. Especially being in the limelight. It makes you feel like you don't have anybody. And I don't really have any celebrity friends... So, it's hard to find someone you can talk to that actually understands what you're going through."
Elsewhere, the rapper discussed the constant trolling he's faced throughout his music career.
"You run into it online or wherever it is and it can affect you," Hopsin said. "And it's just retarded. These people are talking about my life and all these things. And they don't know anything. And you can ignore it and just be like 'What the f*ck? This person has no ties to me.' But sometimes it's just ‘Why are these guys talking about me, man? I'm just a guy doing stuff. Just trying to make the most of my life.' And the whole f*ckin' Hip-hop sh*t is weird, dude."
