Kendrick Lamar Interviews N.W.A. For Billboard
In an exclusive cover story for Billboard, Kendrick Lamar was enlisted to sit down and interview one of his biggest influences: N.W.A.
"Anything that I do, at all, has come from what y'all [N.W.A] done," the Compton rapper said before jumping into a number of topics with members Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, MC Ren and DJ Yella.
They discuss how they balance work and family life, their favorite rappers in the game (which include Kendrick, Pusha T, and Drake), legacy and the impact left by late member Eazy-E.
"He knew before we knew what was going to pop," explains Ren. Dre admits that though he and Eazy "argued night and day," but said it was "always out of mutual respect. Always out of a desire to get the best. And always settled with a cool compromise."
