Dr. Dre Addresses Abuse Claims By Michel’le & Dee Barnes Assault

Dr. Dre

Dr. Dre addresses his past relationship with ex-fiancée Michel'le, as well as his assault of Dee Barnes, in Rolling Stone's August cover story, which also features fellow N.W.A member Ice Cube.

The producer and Michel'le dated in the 1990s and have a child together. Since breaking up, the singer has claimed that Dre beat her up and shot at her while they were dating.

Also, back in 1991, Dre assaulted Dee Barnes at a music industry event in Los Angeles. Barnes, who was the host of the video show Pump It Up!, had upset both Dre and N.W.A over an episode of the show, which included an interview with Ice Cube, who had left the group.

Barnes eventually filed a lawsuit against Dre, which was settled out of court.

"I made some f*cking horrible mistakes in my life," Dre tells Rolling Store. "I was young, f*cking stupid. I would say all the allegations aren't true. Some of them are. Those are some of the things that I would like to take back. It was really f*cked up. But I paid for those mistakes, and there's no way in hell that I will ever make another mistake like that again."
