Tesla Unveils “Ludicrous Speed” For Model S & Model X
Tesla announces new upgrades to its Model S vehicle, allowing the driver to go both faster and further.
On Friday (July 17), CEO Elon Musk revealed three new features, the most exciting being a "Ludicrous Speed Upgrade" for the P85D.
The upgrade, which is offered for $10,000 to new buyers, improves acceleration 10% improvement, allowing the driver to zoom from 0 to 60 mph time in just 2.8 secs and a quarter mile time of 10.9 secs. It will also be offered for the forthcoming Model X.
The "Insane Mode" allows for acceleration from 0-60 in 3.1 seconds.
Furthermore, a 90 kWh batter pack option is added for $3,000, which adds 15 miles, putting the total range on a charge to 300 miles.
