LeBron James Opts Out Of Cavs Contract
LeBron James will become a free agent on July 1, choosing to decline a $21.6 million player option with the Cleveland Cavaliers, reports ESPN.com.
It will mark the third time in six years that the NBA superstar will become an unrestricted free agent, which was expected.
James, however, intends to re-sign with the Cavs, says sources.
LeBron is "very engaged" in discussions about the roster, sources tell ESPN... and plans to see how things play out with Kevin Love and big man Tristan Thompson, both of whom have become free agents, before finalizing his deal.
