Kentucky Rap Pioneer Donnie McFly Passes Away
Louisville, Kentucky rapper Donnie McFly died Tuesday (June 9) after being shot.
According to AllHipHop, the rapper and fellow rapper Jassiem "Father Jah" Anderson were shot Monday morning after leaving a concert at Cole's Place nightclub.
McFly passed away the following day. He was 36 years old and is survived by seven children. Father Jah is still hospitalized.
Buffalo Stille, member of Kentucky's rap group Nappy Roots, commented on both rapper's impact on the music industry.
"These guys were the people making the hip-hop cassette tapes here in Louisville," he says. "They inspired artists like myself."
