Kendrick Lamar finally addressed his "Control" verse this week, via interviews with Power 106 LA and New York's Hot 97, during which he commented on Papoose's very personal response track, calling it "comical."
Well, Pap reacted via Twitter, after listening in, saying "Joke's on you."
During the Compton rapper's interview, he revealed his favorite response track... naming Los, but when asked about Papoose's vicious diss, he referred to it as a "comical joint."
"I liked the [King] Los verse. Joe Budden did this thing, Joell; a lot of people with different approaches," said Kendrick. "Joey had the facts in his verse, a few things that he felt. Papoose had the comical joint. Los was flipping his words and putting that spunk on it. I think he had the killer thing though. Yeah, Los killed it out of everybody."
Papoose didn't take the words lightly, continuing to go in. "You'll never be a real west coast artist like Easy E you a fck joke we laugh @ u like He He He #jokesonyou #MissionAccomplished," Pap tweeted (@PapooseOnline).
The tweet actually contained the same lyrics from his "Control" response, where he spits: "Tell Kendrick and TDE they need to lay off of the PCP / Far from the king, this is the city of BDP / You'll never be a real West Coast artist like Eazy-E / You a f***ing joke. We laughing at you like he-he-he."
Why such harsh words? Well, in a previous interview, Papoose revealed that when Kendrick spewed out the infamous "King of New York" line, not only was it disrespectful to NYC, but he took it as disrespect to himself as well.
