Smartphones just keep growing in size. Samsung -- the maker of the popular Galaxy smartphone -- is rolling out an even larger model: the Galaxy Mega.
The new phone's screen measures 6.3 inches diagonally, nearly as big as a 7-inch tablet. The company's flagship Galaxy S4 is 5 inches, while the Galaxy Note 2 is 5.5 inches... and Apple's iPhone 5 is 4 inches.
The Mega includes many of the features of the previously released Galaxy phones, such as Multi Window, which allows multitasking in a split screen; and Easy Mode, which reduces the number of features and choices for new smartphone users.
AT&T begins selling the Samsung Mega on Friday (August 23) for $150 with a two-year service contract. It will also come to both Sprint and U.S. Cellular at later dates.
The Mega previously made its debut in Europe and Russia in May, but hasn't been available in the U.S. until now.
