Days after being arrested and charged with murder, new info about former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez surfaces... one pointing to his alleged gang ties, and even more murders.
According to TMZ.com, the 23-year-old NFL player may be linked to a 2012 double-murder investigation, in which a drive-by shooting took the lives of two men.
A rep for the Suffolk County District Attorney confirmed that there was an "active investigation" into the case. However, would not confirm is Hernandez is a suspect.
One source, close to the situation, tells TMZ, "It's safe to assume he is now involved."
TMZ also unearthed a photo of Hernandez throwing up gang signs -- he is reportedly linked to the Bristol Bloods street gang in Connecticut (The photo was taken when Hernandez was 17).
Word is, he has been tried to separate himself from his old associates since signing a $40 million contract last year with the Patriots. But, his old friends weren't going away... and he was in fear for his life.
Hernandez has been charged with first degree murder, in connection to the shooting death of 27-year-old Olin Lloyd, a semi-pro football player and friend of Hernandez. He's also facing 5 additional gun related charges.
