Wu-Tang founding member, U-God, is set to return this summer with his third solo album, entitled Keynote Speaker, via RZA's Soul Temple Records.
The upcoming album features 15 gritty and raw tracks that channel the essence of the Wu's staple sound; and including guest appearances from Method Man, Inspectah Deck, GZA, Kool Keith, Styles P, and Elzhi from Slum Village.
In support of the release, U-God plans to give the fans an advanced preview with three singles, set to drop bi-weekly leading up to the July release.
First up, "Heads Up" will debuted Tuesday (June 11) and features GZA, as well as his longtime partner in rhyme, Jackpot Scotty Wotty. The hookless song brings fans back to the era of Wu-Tang's original posse cuts.
The follow-up, second single, "Fame," a head nodder featuring Styles P, is slated to be released on July 2nd. U-God will then give fans a glimpse into his life as he chronicles his dark past on a third single, "Skyscraper," that's due to debut on July 16th.
Additionally, fans will get an opportunity to hear U-God's new music love and celebrate 20 years of Wu, when he and the Clan set out on a tour that spans North America and Europe. They will be playing the Bonnaroo Festival in Manchester, TN on June 16th; and will then, headline Rock The Bells in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington DC, and New Jersey, as a rare hologram of the late Ol' Dirty Bastard joins them.
Keynote Speaker drops July 23rd. Listen to the first leak, "Heads Up," below.
