Ballerstatus.com’s Top 5 Bags For Spring 2013
With the evolution of electronic gadgets, men carry around nearly as much as females these days. BallerStatus made a selection of bags to carry around your laptop, smartphone, tablets, books and clothing on a hot summer day.
HEX: Tribute Laptop Tote
The HEX SS13 collection consists of two themes. One half of the collection offers striped canvas with custom-print lined details, available for both iPhone and iPad; totes; and an assortment of the bags. If you're a more solid color person, the other half of the collection has Monaco blue and linen colorways, constructed in corduroy fabric.
Our favourite from the collection is Tribute Laptop Tote, which is blessed with both form and function. The stylish and versatile tote bag offers padded and fleece-lined storages compartments for items such as a MacBook Pro (up to 15"), iPad, phone, as well as general storage an organizer for pens and cards. The main compartment is big enough to carry anything from document to vinyl. The bag is water resistant, made of fine wale navy blue corduroy and features surplus grade web straps and burgundy logo lining.
Herschel Supply Co.: The Little America Backpack
This summer, Vancouver based brand Herschel Supply Co. presents its classic Little America backpack in new color ways and prints. The sleek design with the bright interior is an eye-catcher that no one will disapprove of. It’s a perfect fit for travelling, to hold all essentials or to cram all college books in.
The Little America backpack is inspired by classic mountaineering and constructed in heavy weight cotton canvas with full grain leather and antique brass or color matched front closures. This cotton canvas version retains the versatile silhouette that made the Little America our most popular backpack.
SSCY: Tack Bag
The people over at SSCY love tote bags - easy access, no sweaty back, easily removed. They also love backpacks - distributes weight, easy to ride with on a bike. But, they could never ride a bike with a tote comfortably or safely and got tired of taking their backpack off every time they needed or bought something, so the brand combined the two and made the Tack. Throw it on your back, ride to the market, open the rear buckles to adjust the straps to convert it to a tote, shop, then open up the buckles again to adjust the straps to convert it back to a backpack, zip it up or clip the top closed, jump back on the bike, and pedal on to the next idea. As a top loading bag it can also handle oversize objects, yet it also has adjustable front straps as well. Handhold it, wear it on your shoulder, or carry it on your back, this bag could be your new everyday bag.
The Tack is made of water-repellant 18 oz. heavy weight duck cotton canvas and features metal hardware and buckles, YKK zippers as well as leather accents. The bag, which is made in Brooklyn, NY, features leather accents on the handles for comfort and grip, six 8 inch deep exterior pockets (able to fit a 9 inch u-lock) and is able to carry a skateboard using straps (not recommended for long boards).
Qwstion: Backpack Dust
The Qwstion story started in 2006, with their search for a bag that closes the gap between functional sports bags and elegant fashion bags. As nothing on the market could satisfy their needs, they founded their brand in the former industrial district of Zurich, Switzerland. Their desire to create products that are for everyday use and independent in style led to the development of bags that work just as well on a bicycle as in a business meeting. They question the norm in matters of look, function and construction and pursue the integration of these aspects in their designs.
Want the look of a bag, but the function of a backpack? Grab this no-fuss, dependable piece of luggage, throw it over your shoulders and carry your laptop and documents wherever you go. And if you’re not in a backpack mood, the side handle allows you to turn it into a casual bag. The stitched-in Neoprene protection cover takes care of your laptop and iPad. Everything is always readily available. It’s as simple as that.
