With Carmelo Anthony going HAM over the last several games, the New York Knicks superstar is set to dethrone three-time scoring champion Kevin Durant with his first scoring title.
Both superstars are set for their regular-season closers, but Thunder coach Scott Brooks says Durant is likely to sit out move of the game to prepare for the playoffs.
Melo currently leads with more than a half-point a game -- with an average of 28.7 ppgs, while Durant is at 28.1.
Anthony is already slated to sit out the last game, but Durant already revealed he won't be able to catch him in a post on his Instagram account on Wednesday (April 17) that reads: "SITTING OUT TONIGHT'S GAME, if you disappointed I didn't try to go for the scoring title, oh well!!"
It was nearly impossible anyway. According to NBA.com, KD would have to put up around 70 points to take the crown.
