VH1 Announces TLC Biopic, ‘Crazy, Sexy, Cool: The TLC Story’
After MC Lyte revealed last week that Lil Mama is playing the role of Left Eye in an upcoming made-for-TV biopic. Now, VH1 has officially announced the upcoming film, titled Crazy, Sexy, Cool: The TLC Story.
The movie will tell the stories of Left Eye, Chilli, and T-Boz, who will be depicted by Lil Mama, Keke Palmer, and Drew Sidora respectively. It will explore the trio's rise to fame with their 1991 debut Ooooooohhh… On the TLC Tip and 1994's groundbreaking album CrazySexyCool, which sold more than 22 million albums worldwide and made them one of the most successful female groups of all-time.
Charles Stone III (Drumline, Paid In Full) has been tapped to direct, while screenwriter Kate Lanier (Set It Off, Beauty Shop) penned the film. The film is slated to begin production next month in Atlanta.
Female rap legend, MC Lyte, previously revealed that Lil Mama had landed the role of the late Left Eye.
