Beyonce Addresses Fake Pregnancy Rumors In Vogue Cover Story

By Allen Starbury ⋅ Published 02/12/13

Beyonce is the cover girl for Vogue's new, March 2013 issue, as the pop star preps a new album and upcoming tour.

In the cover story, not only does she pose for this photo spread, she also addresses on the negative press she's received over the past year, including rumors of a faked pregnancy.

"That was very odd," Beyonce tells the magazine. "Who even thinks that? Like, who would make that up. ... You can't take it too seriously."

Beyonce also talks about what it's like to maintain the career of a superstar while taking care of her and Jay-Z's baby girl, Blue Ivy.

"I felt very maternal around eight months," she remembers. "And I thought I couldn't become any more until I saw the baby. . . . But it happened during my labor because I had a very strong connection with my child. I felt like when I was having contractions, I envisioned my child pushing through a very heavy door. And I imagined this tiny infant doing all the work, so I couldn't think about my own pain. . . . We were talking. I know it sounds crazy, but I felt a communication."

After Blue's birth... she's now mom's traveling companion. "She's my road dog," Beyonce says. "She's my homey, my best friend."
