Chief Keef's life changed in 2012, thanks to his breakout hit "Don't Like." Despite his good fortune, the 17-year-old rapper's career hasn't been very smooth. There's been some controversy and it continues with a newly filed suit.
According to TMZ.com, the Chicago rapper is being sued for child support by a girl who is still in middle school.
Keef allegedly got the girl pregnant in 2011 when he was just 15.
Furthermore, under Illinois law, it's considered a misdemeanor for two people under the age of 17 to have sex, even if it's consensual. If both parties are between 9 and 17 years old, the older person commits a crime called "criminal sexual abuse." The crime could carry a max sentence of one year in jail... and require him to register as a sex offender for ten years. However, these cases are almost never prosecuted.
The unidentified girl, whose current age is unknown, is suing Keef, real name Keith Cozart, for child support, health insurance and other medical expenses.
