With the breakout success of A$AP Rocky, the Harlem rapper's A$AP Mob crew is excited, but not more than member A$AP Ferg... because he just landed a solo deal with Polo Grounds Music/RCA Records.
The rapper has been making noise on his own ever since A$AP Rocky has burst onto the scene... and it's paid off, resulting in his own deal.
Ferg's debut single, "Work," is currently being serviced to radio and circulating the blogs. It originally appeared on A$AP Mob's self-released mixtape, Lord$ Never Worry, while the video has received over 1.3 million views on YouTube.
"I'm just proud right now because this is everything we wished and hoped for," said Rocky on Ferg's signing. "A$AP Ferg worked hard for this and I put all my faith and backing into him. I feel like 'Work' is our generation's 'Sippin On Some Syrup' [Three 6 Mafia feat. UGK] or 'Chickenhead' [Project Pat feat. La Chat & Three 6 Mafia]; it has that feeling."
Details about Ferg's solo debut were unknown at press time.
