Mase is back on the scene, following his official departure from his Bad Boy contract, so he's been doing press this week, talking openly about his past. During an interview with Sway's SiriusXM radio show, Sway In The Morning, the Harlem rap vet discussed advice he received from the late Notorious B.I.G., and reflects on Tupac's life.
Specifically, Biggie told him to do as much as you can when you're hot, because it's not guaranteed fans will be feeling you next year.
"That's what made me take advantage of doing something else," Mase explained. "I knew I could do more than music but I didn't have the courage to really step out and do it. I knew my whole life I was going to do something other than just music. Music was just the direction people kept pushing me in."
As far as Pac, the rapper/pastor feels like he's accomplishing things Pac set out to do, but didn't have the chance to do before his death.
"I believe I'm doing right now what Tupac envisioned to do but he never got around to doing because he wasn't able to make that decision," he explained.
