Three years ago, Mase surprised Diddy when he showed up at an Atlanta radio station where he was giving an interview and asked him to sign papers freeing him from his contract with Bad Boy Records, which dates back to the 1990s.
Well, it's took a few more years, but he's officially a free agent now... 16 years later. However, he doesn't have plans to sign with another label anytime soon.
"I've been in that contract for 16 years," Mase explained. "Yeah, the other day he let me out of it, so big shout-outs to Diddy. I guess he woke up feeling good and he wanted to do something good.
"At this point, I don't really want to be under nobody from the aspect of being tied in a long, long contract," he added. "It's kinda like breaking up; you don't want to jump into a new relationship."
While he liken that getting out of a contract with Diddy was like cutting "your arm off to get free", he said he'd "want to go to war with Puff" as an ally.
"You know how Puff is," Mase explained. "I love him but you gon' cut your arm off to get free."
He goes on to getting love from Kanye West, French Montana, Rick Ross; and how the deal with G-Unit fell through.
