Up-and-coming rapper Trinidad James seems to be making an impression, despite first rapping about 11 months ago. Thanks to the buzz surrounding his mixtape, Don't Be S.A.F.E., and its surprising hit, "All Gold Everything", rumors have surfaced pointing to a $2 million record deal with Def Jam?
Recently, when he performed before executives -- including Def Jam head, Joie Manda -- at a sold out show at NYC's Santos Party House, they were reportedly hooked... and it's Def Jam who opened up the check book.
Now, according to XXLMag.com, James may have landed a $2 million deal with the iconic hip-hop label, where he would join the ranks of Rihanna, Kanye West, 2 Chainz and Frank Ocean.
Since the rumors began circulating, Twitter has been going crazy with fans and peers shocked by the news.
"Trinidad James just signed to Def Jam for 2mil. Time to hit the booth. We all gotta chance," tweeted E. Evans (@E3_EZ).
