Nike teams up with Kobe Brant for the release of the Kobe 8 System, which brings together performance innovations to create his lowest and lightest performance basketball shoe to date at 9.6 ounces. The shoe’s snakeskin print was inspired by Kobe’s on-court alter ego the Black Mamba, with further inspiration from the Chinese Year of the Snake in 2013.
Designed to act as an extension of his foot while mirroring his quick performance and staying lower to the ground, the team incorporated innovative textiles and state-of-the-art production methods to create a dynamic and ultra-lightweight fit.
Beginning December 4, consumers can design, save and share their KOBE 8 SYSTEM shoes at NIKEiD.com and will be able to purchase their designs on December 20th through mobile devices, desktop PCs, and within select Nike stores.
