French Montana is still hard at work on his debut album, Excuse My French, due out later this year. But, he gave a few details this week of what fans should expect.
During an interview with MTV News, the New York rapper unveiled a long list of collaborators, which includes the likes of M.I.A., Nicki Minaj, Eick Ross, Diddy... and many more. Actually, French says "everybody" is on the album ... and he's currently trying to decide whether the next single, following "Pop That," will feature either Nicki, M.I.A., or Lana Del Rey.
"The single with Nicki and then I got something with M.I.A., so it's like I'm picking and choosing," French told MTV's Sway Calloway."Then I got something with ... Lana Del Rey.
"I be fans of these people," he continued. "It's a circuit that everybody expects you to be in. ... I just want to do something different for my next joint."
French goes on to reveal a star-studded collabo called "Marble Floors," which features Rick Ross and Lil Wayne, and an intro that he compares to Diddy's "No Way Out."
While there isn't a release date for Excuse My French just yet, he says he wants to compete ... in the fourth quarter.
"Nobody expects me to come out and have a #1 record, so nobody gonna expect me to come out and have a #1 album 'cause the music just smacks you in the face," French explained. "The more you doubt, the more I smack you harder. It's just the unexpected, the underdog."
French is also working on a new mixtape, called Mac & Cheese 3. There's no release date for that either. Stay tuned...
