Rising rapper A$AP Rocky was taken into custody by NYPD officers on Thursday evening (July 19), after allegedly assaulting two guys for taking pictures of him.
According to TMZ.com, law enforcement sources said the Harlem rapper (real name: Rakim Mayers) got involved with a verbal dispute with someone in downtown Manhattan, and two other men started snapping photos of the incident.
Apparently, this angered A$AP, who -- along with a friend -- turned their attention to the amateur photogs ... and a full-fledged fight erupted. Sources told TMZ that the two victims suffered cuts and bruises, and one required treatment at a hospital.
A$AP Rocky was reportedly arrested, and booked on an attempted robbery charge.
While it's unclear what he is accused of trying to steal, it's likely, he tried to take their camera?
