Earlier this month, Mac Miller and Cam'ron dropped an unexpected collaboration, titled "Dig That." While the track had positive reaction, it was apparently just the tip of the iceberg of what's to come from the unlikely duo.
Because ... they're working on a joint project together.
The rising Pittsburgh rapper told XXLMag.com this week that he and Cam have been in the studio, knocking out news songs for a collaborative project together ... and they're already four songs in.
"We don't know when we're gonna do it. We have three or four songs recorded already. We're working on more at this point," Miller told the mag's website.
While Mac says they pair working together in person, he says they're currently sending tracks back and forth via email and talking on the phone.
However, he says he and Cam have really good chemistry when they're together.
"We're two funny guys," Mac said. "We cut up a lot in the studio, and have a good time and make some dope music. I think the cool thing is that it's an unexpected collaboration that actually turned out dope. We wanna do some soulful hip-hop sh**, while also making some hard sh** and some fun music.
"[We're] making sure that we do it in a way that's different than other people who have done projects together," he continued. "It's still in the brainstorming stage, but we definitely have some dope records done. He's got a lot of knowledge in that he's schooling me on."
Further details about the upcoming project are still unknown.
Aside from that, Mac Miller revealed to XXL that he's "working on a surprise" for his fans, but refused to disclose any info on that just yet. But, said he's working on a mixtape with Philly legend, DJ Jazzy Jeff, which should surface this summer.
First up, however, will be the Macadelic Tour, which kicks off in March.
The 19-date tour kicks off on March 27, and will also feature The Cool Kids and The Come Up. For full tour dates and ticket info, visit MacMillerOfficial.com.
