Local Atlanta rapper Young Vito turned himself into authorities on Monday (December 26) for the alleged murder of Brick Squad recording artist Slim Dunkin.
Vito (real name: Vinson Hardimon) is currently being held at Fulton County jail on murder and gun possession charges pending a bond hearing, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Police identified Vito as the main suspect in the killing last week, and media outlets urged him to surrender warning that his life may be in danger.
Compared to the previously released photo of Vito, he had drastically changed his appearance. From a thick goatee and dreadlocks to clean-shaven and a short manicured haircut.
As previously reported, Vito and Slim Dunkin were involved in an argument at an Atlanta recording studio in mid-December, allegedly beginning over a piece of candy. The shouting match escalated, and Vito allegedly shot Dunkin, who later succumbed to his gunshot wounds.
Slim Dunkin was at the studio recording. However, there were at least 30 people in the building because a music video was being filmed.
The Brick Squad rapper, and longtime friend of Waka Flocka Flame, was an up-and-coming rapper who had released two joint mixtapes with Waka, and was recently featured on Gucci Mane's joint LP with V-Nasty, titled BAYTL. He was just 24 years old.
