YMCMB is on a roll. Following Lil Wayne's successful release of Tha Carter IV, Drake is topping the charts this week; and now, Nicki Minaj is on deck.
Cash Money head, Birdman, told Billboard.com this week that his First Lady is on the calendar, and is due out in early 2012 ... with a new single possibly coming by year's end.
"Maybe this year? I don't know," Birdman said. "We're really thinking it out. But she's in the studio, and we're looking real soon, because she's ready to go and we're ready to go with her."
Following Birdman's revelations, Nicki herself hopped on Twitter on Tuesday (November 22) to make her own announcement ... in which she revealed a release date and album title.
"U know what??? There's been a change of plans barbz. I'm announcing the name and date today. How do I get on ustream???" Nicki wrote (@NickiMinaj). "Its only right to announce it on the anniversary of Pink Friday right barbz???"
However, after some technical difficulties while attempting to hop on Ustream, she just tweeted it instead.
"Pink Friday : ROMAN RELOADED will be released on Valentines Day, 2012. Heeeee's baaaacccckkkkk," she wrote.
So there you have it. Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, a take on her alter ego Roman Zolanski, is due out February 14, 2012.
The new LP will be Nicki's sophomore effort, following 2010's Pink Friday, which debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 back in late November 2010 behind Kanye's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Her debut spawned several hit singles including "Moment 4 Life" and "Super Bass," among others.
